DPF, DEF & Emissions Shops Near You
DPF cleaning and forced regens, DEF and SCR system faults, EGR coolers and valves, NOx and pressure sensors — the aftertreatment work that keeps a modern diesel legal and running.
About DPF, DEF & Emissions
Nothing sidelines a late-model diesel faster than its own emissions system — a DPF that will not finish a regen, a DEF countdown ticking down to a 5 mph derate, or an EGR cooler dumping coolant into the intake. The local shops listed here specialize in DPF cleaning, DEF and SCR repair, EGR work, and the sensor faults behind them, and they understand state emissions rules well enough to fix the truck properly instead of just clearing the code.

DPF, DEF & Emissions FAQ
Get to a local shop before the countdown reaches zero; once the truck derates it may need a dealer-level tool to reset. Common causes are a failed DEF pump or heater, contaminated fluid, a bad NOx sensor, or a DEF quality sensor that lost its mind in cold weather. Do not top the tank with anything but fresh, sealed DEF, and do not let anyone tell you the fix is to delete the system — that is a federal offense.
Off-truck cleaning — baking and blowing out the ash — is a fraction of the price of a new filter and restores most units. Replacement is needed when the substrate is cracked or melted, usually after repeated failed regens or a fuel-injector problem that overloaded it. A local shop should tell you the ash load and pressure differential before and after cleaning; ask for those numbers.
Frequent regens mean the DPF is loading up faster than it should. Short trips and lots of idling are the usual cause on pickups, but leaking injectors, a stuck EGR valve, a bad DPF pressure sensor, or engine oil consumption will do it too. A local emissions specialist reads soot load and regen history from the computer to sort the driving-habit case from the mechanical one.
No. Removing or disabling DPF, EGR, or SCR equipment is illegal everywhere in the United States under the Clean Air Act, and state inspection or roadside enforcement can flag it. Shops that advertise deletes are exposing you to fines and a truck that cannot be registered or sold clean. Every shop in this list is expected to repair emissions systems, not remove them.
EGR coolers crack from heat cycling and clog with soot; when they leak, coolant enters the exhaust or intake. Small losses grow quickly and can hydrolock a cylinder or destroy the DPF. If you are adding coolant with no external leak and see white steam at startup, get it to a local shop now — replacement is a routine job for a diesel specialist and far cheaper than the engine damage it prevents.
